Personal management and growth workshop with Phil

Students in 2024 are often lost. Many spend time playing video games, working slowly and ineffectively, and consuming social media. What’s worse, they rely ever more on AI to do their work for them.

Students have 5 learning orientations: hostile, resistant, conforming, performing, and transforming. The work of a teacher is to guide the student upwards through these orientations, but the student must want to engage in growth and change for it to work. This internal personal transformation cannot be guided or executed by AI.

In this 8-week seminar of 1-hour each, students will be challenged to face some of the most important questions about their own learning habits, behaviours, attitudes, and orientations. Change must come from within: Phil will help teach them what personal leadership means so they can have the knowledge to change.

The seminar will cover:

• how to become aware of one’s own weaknesses
• how to develop maturity
• how to develop a good attitude towards school and life
• how to study effectively
• how to set a schedule and stick to it
• how not to procrastinate
• how to deal with distractions
• how to be organized
• how to show leadership
• how to develop your potential to be a good personal manager
• how to have an internal locus of control
• how to go up through the levels of the learning orientation range

•students can choose to attend online or in-person
